This is a scary time for all Malaysians. Things are uncertain, shaky, and frankly a little bleak. We're a small Malaysian startup trying to tide this through, and if you've bought a mattress from us during this time, we truly thank you for your support from the bottom of our hearts.

If you're considering purchasing a mattress from us and you're curious about the impact of COVID-19 on your Joey Mattress purchase, here's what we're doing to ease those worries:

Is Joey Mattress taking any precautions against COVID-19?

Joey Mattress are made locally here in Selangor, and we make sure to implement all recommended procedures within our factory and warehouse while continuing our production of the mattresses.

• We regularly sanitise our factory and monitor the health of our workers, drivers and everyone they come in contact with.
• We provide all workers with a clean working environment and personal protective equipment. This includes hand sanitiser stations, disinfectant wipes, masks, and gloves. We deep clean all equipment used by our employees regularly.

We truly care for our employees' wellbeing and want to give them the safest environment to work in. In this pandemic, a safe work environment means a properly sanitised workplace, and we are proud to say that we will provide that to the best of our abilities.

What if there's COVID-19 germs on the Joey box when it gets delivered to my home?

We strive to do all we can to ensure that only a clean and sanitised Joey Mattress box is delivered to you. This includes all the precautions mentioned in the previous "Is Joey Mattress taking any precautions against COVID-19?" section.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a national public health institute in the United States, recommends using online services to run errands/shop during these times as it decreases COVID-19 transmission when face-to-face interactions are limited. They also state that

the risk of infection from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, from products, packaging, or bags is thought to be low.

When receiving packages, CDC recommends to:

• Ask for deliveries to be left in a safe spot outside your house, with no person-to-person interaction. Otherwise, stay at least 6 feet away from the delivery person. We offer doorstep delivery for your convenience, but you can always email us at support@joeymattress.com or call us (03 - 2935 9978) to tell us if you have a preferred delivery dropoff spot or method that's comfortable for you.
• After unboxing, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use a hand sanitiser if soap and water are not available.

I'm worried that my delivery will get severely delayed.

For deliveries within Klang Valley, your item will be delivered to your doorstep by LALAMOVE. You can still pick the date and time that works for you for the arrival of your delivery.

Deliveries to the rest of West Malaysia will be handled and delivered by GDEX. It usually takes 4-5 business days for your package to arrive, but do allow for a 1-3 days' delay in delivery time.

For deliveries to East Malaysia, it usually takes 25-30 working days by sea freight, and 5-7 working days by express air freight. We regret to inform our East Malaysian customers that there could be up to a 2-week delay in your deliveries. We humbly apologise for all delays and inconveniences experienced, and also thank you for your patience during this period.

These are some precautions we're taking to ease your worries, as the health and safety of our workers, drivers, and customers are our greatest concern. We hope these added steps make the Joey Mattress shopping experience as safe and sanitary as possible for everybody.

We also strongly suggest and plead that all Malaysians stay home, don't go to any gatherings (even though it's with just a few friends. We would like to quote GSC, "HELLO. CANNOT."), and wear a mask if you do have to go out.

Usually, this would be the part where we say something like: "The Joey Mattress makes staying at home and sleeping fun and bearable! Check out the Joey Mattress today!"

However, in all seriousness, the spike in cases is not something that should be taken lightly.

We Malaysians may quarrel about a lot of things, but when it comes to serious life-threatening matters, the unity we show as a country is truly outstanding,
